As we said in the run up to the event, Loathe was to play the Xtreme Metal Assault 2010, held at the Buskett Roadhouse on the 4th and 5th of September. Loathe played late on the 4th, or early on the 5th, according to your understanding of time. At the time, we were quite hampered in the understanding department.
In any case, our show went down a storm, thanks to the crazy maniacs in the pit who slammed, moshed and mostly behaved with very little civility. Just the way we like it really!
A big thank you goes to Edward who was the brains and brawn behind the event, Paul from the AV Warehouse who took care of sound and all his minions, Steve Lombardo who was of great help in setting up and of course the hundreds of rabid metal fans who trudged from all over the island and convened to give us bands a wonderful two days of metal, as we all hope we gave you.
In addition, we all remembered and drank to our brother in arms Wayne Vella who sadly left us too young of age in August.
Here’s a video of Loathe tearing through Hellfire, the first song off Despondent By Design. You can buy the album on PayPal by clicking here.
Meanwhile, you’ll see us back on stage very soon, on the 25th of September actually, when we play the M3P Inaugural Event during Notte Bianca, at Hastings Gardens, where so many of you popped their cherries. And we’ll be ripping Valletta a new one with our guest drummer that night, so be sure not to miss it! Event details here (on Facebook) and here (on M3p.com.mt).
UPDATE: If you crave better quality video than this, a festival DVD should be on its way. For the time being, check out this incredible photo set by Kevin Cassar here.
