Two Weeks to our gig with Beheaded

You may have heard and thought it was a joke, but it most certainly is not. We do in fact have a gig scheduled with fellow Maltesers and absolute death metal titans Beheaded.

It’s been a few years since we last played with Beheaded, and if memory doesn’t fail me, I think that would have been at Poxx Bar in Paceville at least 3 years ago. We’re absolutely stoked to be playing with such a great band again.

Beheaded are currently in the final adjustments before they release their  new album, entitled ‘Never to Dawn’. Incidentally, Beheaded is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this year, an awesome milestone, especially for a death metal band from Malta of all places! Congrats brothers!

As for us, we’re hard at work on new songs and recording these songs, as well as practicing for this gig. But more about us at a later date…..

The venue for the gig is Rookies Sports Bar in Buġibba, and the date to etch in blood is the 1st of April 2012. Flyer below and all details can be found on Facebook. Hope to see a whole lot of you there for what is shaping up to be a most awesome show!

Photos of Loathe at the Farsons Beer Festival 2011

On Monday the 25th of July, Loathe headlined the Rock Stage at the Farsons Beer Festival 2011, held at Ta’Qali National Park. It was a great night for all involved. Kudos goes to the other bands who played on the night; In The Name Of, Indigo, Norm Rejection and Club Murder. We have a bunch of photos courtesy of John Gauci. The best of them are below. Friend of ours also snapped these pics here and this set and put them on Facebook. If you have any more pictures feel free to get in touch. We will always credit you for their usage.

You won’t be hearing much from us in the coming weeks. Our guitarist Kurt heads out on tour with Abysmal Torment, and after that we’ll be focusing on our new material, of which there’s quite a lot. Rest assured we’ll be back slamming stages soon, as soon as it gets a bit cooler.

Final word; it is with great sadness and trepidation that we hear of the riots in the UK. Loathe has tonnes of friends in that country, many of which are in the stricken areas. Hang in there guys and gals, stay safe and out of harm’s way!

Loathe on a Boat gig videos

Last week we played a boat party gig, the band’s second so far. We played to an awesome audience alongside our Maltese metal-meisters SLIT. It was a great night and a solid warm up to our upcoming appearance at arguably Malta’s largest summer event, the Farson’s Beer Festival.

A boat made entirely of metal. Brütal!

We’re also lucky enough to have footage of almost the entire set on the boat, which we are sharing with you below. All the video was taken by John Gauci, who on the night was given the title of ‘World’s craziest photographer’. Excuse the sound, again, blame John, he likes to move around us on stage, and the minute he gets close to an amp or a cymbal, y’kow, it sort of takes over. Still, the video captures the emotion well. Enjoy, and hope to see as many of you as possible on the 25th of July.

2: Farsons Great Beer Festival 2011

This year, Loathe will be gracing the Farsons Great Beer Festival on Monday the 25th of July. The venue is the Ta’Qali National Park. We will be playing alongside In the Name Of, Indigo, Club Murder and Norm Rejection in what promises to be an epic night of beer, metal and debauchery. How can you contribute to the madness? Simple.

Wear any Loathe t-shirt to the Beerfest and get a Loathe EP for free. Couldn’t be simpler now, could it?

3: Anything else?

Yeah, maybe. There is a possibility of more gigs during the Summer of 2011, but nothing is confirmed at this point. Stay updated with Loathe news on this site or on Facebook.

A hot and Loathe-some summer

It’s been a while since we’ve written anything here on the interwebs, except for the regular updates on Facebook and Twitter. The reason for that is quite simple, we’ve been busy gigging, writing new songs and jamming with the latest addition to the band, our fair haired Icelandic killer sheep Adam.

Since we’ve last written in, we played at the Shellshock Metal Festival in March, and launched a brand spanking new venue, Voice of a Generation, in Paceville, with our old buddies BNI. We’ve also written a number of new songs, some of which you will hear when you next see us live.

Which brings us neatly to the next item. We are playing live, on a boat, on the 1st of July 2011. Maltese metal stalwarts SLIT will accompany us on this fishing trip, and we will certainly ensnare a few fish, if not mermaids. The event is being organised by Rookies and Wild Ones and will involve a boat.

We will have many more details to you soon, but for now, put a fish hook through the 1st of July on your calendars.

We also have at least another scheduled appearance this summer, a big one, but we have to keep those under wraps for now. The minute we get the go ahead to tell you all about these events, don’t you worry, we will.

One more thing, our friends Morgue Orgy from Birmingham in the UK have just released a new EP. Check out their video below, and the Loathe t-shirt at the end of it. Awesome song too!
