Never a band to mince their words, Loathe is now on the threshold of a new era. After having released three EPs and a full length album entitled ‘Despondent By Design’ over the past decade, the band is ready to hone down on its signature aggressive sound and deliver more highly polished, brutal metal songs to its loyal fans.
On the live circuit, Loathe are a constant appearance. The band has criss crossed the UK many times over and shared stages with bands such as Evile, Detonation, Sabbat, K.O.Kaine, SevenYearsDead, Let ‘Em Bürn, SLAB and Morgue Orgy.
Locally, on their island of Malta, the band is known as a heavyweight among the metal bands and has played a number of legendary gigs, including 2 headlining spots in the famed Extreme Maltese Metal summer festival.
‘Despondent By Design’, the band’s sophomore full length album, has been received extremely well in all quarters. So as to break the album onto the UK, Loathe played the legendary Bridgefest festival, held in Canning Town, London over the course of 3 full days of metal, alongside best mates Morgue Orgy and death metal titans Trigger the Bloodshed.
In 2012, Loathe recorded more of their own material. Having defined their sound and sharpened it over the years, the band spent the year demoing tracks and building the visual concept of the forthcoming releases.
May 2013 sees the release of ‘Lambs To The Slaughter”, Loathe’s fifth release, an EP including five original tracks. As a release, ‘Lambs To The Slaughter’ is heavier and takes a more technical approach when it comes to the songs’ composition. Additionally, it is Loathe drummer Max’s first release with Loathe and brings his musical influences to light through his drumming.

Loathe has been praised extensively in the press. The band was nominated for the Best Heavy Metal Award in the GO Malta Music Awards in 2010.
