Flush with success from yesterday’s gig at the Snooty Fox in Wakefield, today we return to Manchester. It’s always been a very good city to us, and we’ve played here a number of times, however not at The Star & Garter, tonight’s venue of choice.
Situated just off Piccadilly Station, bang in the centre of town, the venue looks like a massive house from the outside, and to be fair, the room we’re playing in is very large. The photos below ought to show you.
We met with the MWP guys here, some of whom were awesome enough to drive to Wakefield yesterday and watch our show. They’re an international band, coming from far flung places such as Greece, South Africa and Ireland (ok, not that far then), and great guys, really chilled.
We’ve become a well honed gear-carrying and setting up machine on this tour, and a good deal it is too, as the photos will demonstrate that 3 bands’ worth of equipment is somewhat of a big deal!
The gig went well. It was MWP’s first gig, and they came out as a strong and determined band, and also very nice guys. A special thanks for their offers of hospitality, and to Hassan, who made soup for everyone!
We also had a great set tonight, as did Slab. Manchester seems to like us very much, and we promise we’ll be back.
Tomorrow is Wolvehampton. Long drive there, and not sure what to expect as we’ve never played there. We’ll see! Keep updated here!
