We’d like to thank a few people for the great release gig for Despondent By Design that we had. Alex and Arthur from the Black Pearl were great to us. Tripwire were a real blast and played extremely well. However, our biggest thanks go to everyone who came and rocked out, especially the ones who bought the new CD. We also want to wish happy birthday to one of our biggest fans, Mila, who is now 19!

As promised, we have another media surprise for you after the coverage Loathe has been given in both il-Mument and the Sunday Times. This time around, Loathe will be on the radio.

The radio programme is called Rock Moods and is broadcast live on ONE radio and you hear it live either by tuning your old radios on 92.7 MHZ FM or by clicking on this link and streaming it live. The program is on between 20:00 and 22:00 Central European Time.

“Il-bieraħ sibt l-EPskollha tagħkom u tfajthom fil-basket tax-xogħol ħalli niprepara ruħi (u widnejja) ghall-massakru li ġej il-Ġimgħa!”

which loosely translates to: “Yesterday I dug out all your old EPs and put them in my work bag so I can prepare myself (and my hearing) for next Friday’s onslaught.”

Between 2003 and 2007, some of you may remember a little thing called myspace. You know, before and in the run up to facebook. Myspace was cool, and for bands, to this day, is arguably the best social network to be on.

Loathe have been on myspace for around 5 years. Myspace redesigns have happened before, but nothing quite so major. Lo and behold, the new loathe myspace, complete with despondent by Design themed artwork, which was, of course, courtsey of our friends Cedric and Clint. In the run up to the release of Despondent By Design, the face melting new album from Loathe, a number of press appearances are scheduled. Below is the first of many, from the Torċa of the week of Monday 12th July. It is written in Maltese, so only those hailing from our rocky outcrop island will know what it means, BUT, I promise you’ll have English reading material before the week is out.

Loathe are ecstatic to announce that they will be playing the Bridgefest 2010 Festival in Canning Town, London, UK on Sunday the 29th of August.

Loathe will be sharing the stage with their good friends Morgue Orgy and death metal titans TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED. Further bands will be added soon, so be sure to check out www.myspace.com/bridgefest2010

We are (finally) going to release our debut full length album, Despondent By Design. We realise it has been a long time coming, but for the most part, what delayed us was completely out of our control.

Now we shall not dilly dally about all that could have been. We release Despondent By Design in summer, on the 23rd of July, a Friday, at one of the coolest places we will have ever played in! The Black Pearl, in Ta’Xbiex is a ship on land, and serves the triple purpose of being a great restaurant, a bar, and an awesome wooden host to our metal!
